1. We have an in-school field trip coming up in March- Scientists in School: Rocks and Minerals. We are still in need of a few more volunteers for each class in order to have the field trip run.

Weekly Learning Update
Math:
We have started to learn about polygons.
Ask your child "What is a polygon?"
Writing:
We have looked back at our writing goals, and have made adjustments.
Ask your child what they are working on in writing.
We have also been working on summarizing.
Reading:
We have been reading to gather information about Peru. Also, we have been orally practicing to summarize what we are reading.
Art:
The Rainforest Art animals are looking really good. The details that students have added to the animals and the background are amazing. 
Science:
This week we started Rocks and Minerals. The students are very excited about this topic and many have brought in some of their own Rocks to share.
