We are learning to describe, extend, compare and create increasing and decreasing numerical patterns.
Problem: Phillip started counting at 625 on a number line and counted to 725. What might his number pattern be? Find a least two ways he could have made the pattern.
Writing: Persuasive Writing
The writer's job is to convince his or her audience to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action.
Students wrote a persuasive paragraph to convince people to read the novel A Boy Called Bat. They had to start with an interesting introduction to hook their reader. Then, they had to write 4 well developed reasons that would convince someone to come to read the book. Finally, the had to write a concluding sentence reminding the reader why A Boy Called Bat is a great book to read.
Social Studies: India
This week we explored important symbols of India. Ask you child what is India's national flower, national tree, national animal, national bird and national fruit.
We started to compare the climate and weather of Canada and India. Ask your child about the seasons in India.
