Weekly Learning Update
Math
We continued learning about fractions in sets and wholes. We know that the denominator of a fraction represents all the equal parts that make up a whole or the total of a set. The numerator represents the number of parts. We have been practicing writing fractions in numbers and words as well as drawing fractions in wholes and sets. We have also played some fraction games to support and reinforce our learning.
Science
We have been learning more about animal conservation and the job of a conservationist. We read a book called A Voice for the Spirit Bears by Carmen Oliver. It is about the true story of a young boy who followed his passion to conserve the habitat of the rare spirit bear and the impact he made for the bears as well as animal conservation around the world. We also learned about Jane Goodall.

Social Studies
We finished up our learning about Ukraine this week. We researched different aspects about Ukraine on the computers, for example food, art, sports, beliefs, jobs and resources.
Language Arts
We did two different pieces of writing this week. We looked at a picture prompt of a tiny dragon sitting on a person's fingers and imagined where it came from and wrote stories based on this tiny creature. We also debated "What would you rather" topics and wrote about if we would rather be able to fly or be able to turn invisible. It was fun giving our opinions and justifications.
