We started off our week solving a 3 Act Task math problem. A Three-Act Task is a whole-group mathematics task consisting of three distinct parts: an engaging and perplexing Act One, an information and solution seeking Act Two, and a solution discussion and solution revealing Act Three. Have your child explain what they did using the link below.
We started by brainstorming things that come in groups. Here are some of our examples: of 2 (eyes), 3, 4 (seasons), 5 (senses), 6 (insect legs), 7 (days in a week), 8 (spider legs), 9 (spots on a tic-tac-toe board), 10 (numbers on a phone key pad), 11 (points on a maple leaf), 12 (dozen eggs).

Students continued to work on their gymnastic skills. The worked on travels, jumping over obstacles and safety landings.

Social Studies
Our next stop as explorers of the world is The Ukraine. This week students used their geographical thinking skills to locate important cities, rivers, mountain ranges and seas that border Ukraine. We are investigating how the land shapes what life is like there. We also looked at some of their national symbols. Ask your child what they discovered.
