Try this problem with your child:

Using the numbers 1, 3, 6, and 9.  Create a 3-digit by 3-digit subtraction problem.  Justify and solve.

In our residency we have started to work on our Villain scene for our Fairy Tale. Ask your child:
What characteristics does their villain have?
What does your villain look like?

We are continuing to build our comprehension strategies. Predicting, Questioning, Clarifying and Summarizing.
Ask your child about reading "The Macaw Woman."

We finished reading Race the Wild: Rain Forest Relay this week.

Ask your child:
What happened in the last part of the story?
What do you predict will happen in the next leg, the next book?

Art:
The Rainforest Art animals are looking really good. The details that students have added to the animals and the background are amazing. (picture to come later)

Social Studies: Peru
As explorers of the world, we are learning about what life is like in Peru so we can appreciate and understand other cultures. Students have rotated through 14 centres. They have documented their observations, wonders and learning in their Visual Journals using a variety of methods (sketches, labels, charts, webs, lists, writing amazon animal riddles). We will be having a catch up rotation where students will be able to finish any missed centres or add details.

Gym: Stations
Students explored skipping, and various skipping techniques.
