Weekly Learning Update
It was another busy week in Grade 3. In Science, we explored playground structures. Working with a partner, students had to describe what real world materials were used to build the structure and think about what materials they could use to build a model of the same structure. They were encouraged to think about what materials from the recycling bin that they could use. In Math, we began to look at place value in order to build our understanding of 3 digit numbers. In Social Studies, we learned the terms hemisphere, poles and equator. We also used cardinal (North, South, East and West) and intermediate directions (Northwest, Northeast, Southwest and Southeast) to locate places on maps and globes.
