Global Read Aloud: One Book to Connect with the World
For the next 6 weeks we will be engaged in a novel study and connecting with students from other parts of the world who are also reading the same book. We are partnered up with a Grade 3/4 class in Kitchener, Ontario and a Grade 3 class in Denver, North Carolina. We will get to learn more about those places as well as share our thinking about the novel.
This week we read the first 4 chapters and learned many things about Bat's likes and dislikes. We found many ways to connect with him as a character.
Ask your child:
Why is the boy called Bat?
What have you learned about him so far?
